Arietelloidea (Crassarietellus Ohtsuka, Boxshall et Roe, 1994).

The calanoid fauna of the Arctic Ocean just above the seafloor is understudied, especially in deep-waters as sampling in the vicinity of the seabed is difficult. However, the waters just above the seafloor, or the benthic boundary layer (BBL), play an important role in the marine ecosystems and represent the link between benthic and pelagic communities (e. g., Wishner 1980; Angel 1990; Renz and Markhaseva 2015; McGovern et al. 2018). The BBL is populated by organisms that have been named benthopelagic, demersal or hyperbenthic, but also by species whose life cycle is in some way connected with the near-bottom. Calanoid copepods form a large group of the BBL dwellers; however, the number of publications devoted to the Arctic Ocean benthopelagic calanoids is limited (e. g., Sars 1902; Farran 1936; Fosshagen 1972; Shih and Stallard 1982; Sirenko et al. 1996; Markhaseva 1998; Schulz and Kwasnievsky 2004; Markhaseva and Semenova 2005). The recent overviews of the community of calanoid copepods in the Arctic Ocean mainly focus on the calanoid fauna in the pelagic realm (Markhaseva et al. 2001; Kosobokova et al. 2011).

Cophogryllus Saussure, 1877.
Oligochaeta divaricata (Fisch. et C. A. Mey.) K. Koch.
